Observing Community is a project produced for the community of The Wye Valley, specicially the villages of
Tintern, Chepstow, and St Briavels. Known for its magnificent landscapes, quaint villages, wildlife, and architectural remains, the Wye Valley is home to close-knit communities and families and holds a special place in my heart.
The photos in this collection are taken mostly in November 2023. I visited the forest to meet with friends and members of the community. Throughout the day we spoke to locals about their life and businesses, as I intended to capture the stories of this community as well as the beauty of the place itself. This collection hopes to shine light on the small and beautiful worlds of the English Countryside, exhibiting how much the notion of community and connection really matters.
